Well, I have been out and about the last few weeks, thoroughly enjoying my new camera. Man, I love that thing. I've been driving all over creation to get new pictures, which probably isn't the smartest thing to do right now because gas prices are so astronomically high, but I can't seem to stop myself. I've got that urge, know what I mean?
I wanted to thank all of you for the overwhelming support on the recent lighthouse pictures I've posted. I didn't expect them to be so popular, so thank you very much!
I think the hardest part about getting a new camera is trying to learn the ins and outs of it, especially for me since I've gone from a little point and shoot to the very classy 40d. It's been so long since I've had to try and shoot using the manual settings that I've forgotten just about everything, so now I have to re-learn it all over again. I'm finding it frustrating because I know I can produce better photos that I currently am, but I'm not comfortable enough with my camera yet. I'll get there, with time and patience, but since patience is not one of my strong suits, it should be an interesting ride..

I'm hoping to take a trip down to Big Sur in the next few weeks to get some shots of the coastline. The scenery around here is very dull and brown, so I'm looking for other more interesting things to shoot. That, unfortunately, means I have to drive a lot. But I'm anxious to put my camera to good use!
Until my next babbling journal that so few of you read...
Enjoy the features! They're excellent!
PS. My CSS is a little screwy right now, so bear with me while I find a new one. Stupid dA upgrades...
